Terms of service
The short version: the service is free to you, we are paid by communities when you lease, every number we give you is dated and must be confirmed by the community, and only the community decides whether to approve you.
The service
Knockworthy, operated by Hampson Properties LLC (“we”), helps renters find apartments in Texas. We search available communities, check details, prepare a personalized Apartment Game Plan, and help coordinate tours. We are a licensed Texas real estate brokerage acting as an apartment locator.
Free to renters; how we are paid
You do not pay us. Participating apartment communities pay us a referral fee when a renter we referred signs a lease and names Knockworthy as their referral source. Naming us on your application is how the community knows to pay us; we will ask you to do so and appreciate it when you do.
Information is dated and must be confirmed
Rent, fees, specials, availability and policies change constantly and are set by each community, not by us. Every figure on a Game Plan carries the date it was checked and is an estimate until the community confirms it in your lease. Always confirm the numbers with the community before you apply or sign.
No approval promises
Each community makes its own application and approval decisions under its own criteria. We do not and cannot guarantee that any community will approve you, offer a particular unit or honor a particular special.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information, and tell us when it changes.
- Keep your Game Plan and status links private; they are unique to you.
- Use the service for your own genuine apartment search.
Text messages
When you start a search and tick the consent box, you agree to receive text messages from Knockworthy (Hampson Properties LLC) about your apartment search: sign-in codes, Game Plan updates, tour confirmations and replies from your locator. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of using the service.
- Frequency: message frequency varies with your search. Most renters receive a few texts a week while a search is active.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Stop: reply STOP to any text to cancel. You will get one confirmation text and nothing more. Your search continues by email and through your private links.
- Help: reply HELP to any text, or contact us at the address in the footer.
- Privacy: your mobile number and consent are used only for these messages and are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Our privacy notice has the detail.
We may also email or call you about your search at the contact details you give us. The texting programme, including the consent wording you agreed to, is set out in full on the text message terms page.
Fair housing
We provide our service without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law, and we do not describe communities or neighborhoods in those terms.
Limits
We provide the service with reasonable care but as a search and coordination service only. We are not a party to your lease and are not responsible for a community’s pricing, condition, policies or decisions. To the extent permitted by Texas law, our liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us, which is nothing.
Texas Real Estate Commission
Texas law requires a brokerage to provide the Information About Brokerage Services form and the Consumer Protection Notice. Both are linked from every page of this site, and our disclosures page collects them with the rest of what we owe you.
Changes
If these terms change, the effective date above changes with them. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
